Jasmine (Jazz)
– Director
Jasmine Judge, sole Director and founder of Westside Paws, is a Qualified Dog Trainer with Gentle Dog Trainers Association (GDTA) of Australia 2012.
New Zealand born, Wife to Richard, Mother to Harrison (10) and Nikita (7). Proudly owned by Ian, 6yr old and Thumper, 8 month German Shepherd. The late (Bert, Ernie & Ally) still remain close to her heart.
After moving to Australia from New Zealand, whilst working in the hospitality industry, she began furthering her interest and love of dogs into a career by completing her dog trainer qualifications with the GDTA at Kintala Club.
Whilst working for companies that provided dog walking, pet minding and training, Loose Lead Pets became a dream that she decided to turn into reality.
Westside Paws was born in 2022.
Loose Lead Pets was sold in January 2023.
The primary focus of Westside paws is to help more people help more dogs in more ways than one. Offering a personalised service, WSP offers Puppy School, Puppy Play, Dog training, and Pet Aromatherapy and has a fabulous online shop supplying top-quality pet treats, training gear and products we know, love and trust.
We endorse positive reinforcement methods, as extensive research has proven that this is the only successful way forward in dog training and fostering rewarding relationships between animals and their humans. We are “reward based” “force free” and work entirely on trust, respect and understanding your pet.
This is the core belief and principle of Westside Paws.
Alex
– Dog Trainer
Alex is a dog trainer and behaviour consultant who focuses on you, your animal, and your circumstances, creating a plan that will empower you and your pup.
Alex dived into training after working and volunteering with rescue groups. After seeing results with their dog, they were encouraged to take the leap and dive into professional trainer courses.
Alex got the learning bug and is a qualified behaviour coach and trainer. She holds a Certificate IV in Animal Training and Behaviour from BKI. Always seeking to improve her practice, she has completed numerous courses and workshops, including the Fear Free Trainer Certification and the Aggression in Dogs Master Course, and continues to upskill and learn from other professionals in the field. She currently volunteers at the Pet Professional Guild Australia as part of the Marketing Committee.
Aimee
– Retail & Admin Allrounder
Hi, I’m Aimee,
I’m part of the team here at Westside Paws, and if there is one thing you should know about me - it’s that I absolutely love dogs. All shapes, all sizes, all personalities.
At home, I have a gorgeous Bernese Mountain Dog who I’m completely obsessed with, and I also share life with my wonderful partner and our 4 year old son - so life is busy, fun and full of love!
When I’m not spending time with pups, youll usually find me cooking, in the garden, at the gym, studying for my nutritionist qualification or relaxing with a good book at the end of the day.
I can’t wait to meet you and you beautiful dogs in store soon!
Simone
– Nosework Trainer
We’re very excited to welcome Simone Daley to the Westside Paws team as our specialist Nosework trainer.
Simone is a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI), a Dogs Australia Scent Work Judge, and has a cert IV in Companion Animal Services - Delta Institute, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Nosework program.
Nosework is very much Simone’s specialty. She loves helping dogs learn to use their incredible sense of smell while watching their confidence, independence and problem-solving skills develop along the way.
One of the things we love about Simone’s approach is her understanding that Nosework really can be for every dog. It can provide an amazing outlet for energetic dogs, build confidence in dogs who are nervous or unsure, and give reactive dogs an opportunity to participate in an activity without needing to work closely around other dogs.
Her calm, supportive teaching style and focus on allowing each dog to work at their own pace fits beautifully with the force-free, reward-based approach at Westside Paws.
Whether you’re looking for a fun new activity with your dog, an outlet for that busy brain, or you’re interested in progressing further into the sport of Scent Work, you’ll be in very knowledgeable hands with Simone.
Simone also spends time with her border collie Ned who enjoys his scent work.
